There are 2 seasons of star anise in Vietnam. Spring season from February to March and autumn season in September.
Star anise in spring has small flower petals. And there are no seeds inside. While autumn star anise has larger petals and seeds inside. Therefore, autumn star anise is more beautiful. And its price is more expensive than spring star anise.

In 2020, the price of spring star anise is around $ 6,500 per ton. And the price of fall star anise is $ 7,400 per ton.

We harvest fresh flowers of star anise. Then dry it under a sun temperature above 30 * C. After that, we remove the flower stems. And remove the broken flowers. When the humidity in star anise is 13%, we collect it. And pack in 10kgs carton.
The most important thing is the temperature and humidity in the air when it dries. We have to control it. Otherwise, star anise could be a fungus after 20-30 days by sea transportation.
